Vermont Western CorridorChittenden County, located in the north western region of Vermont, is the most densely populated area of this largely rural state. About 25% of the state’s population lives in Burlington, which is surrounded by a ring of large communities. Burlington is the home of the University of Vermont, whose campus sits on a hill high above the shore of Lake Champlain.
County towns located within the Vermont Western Corridor Transportation Management Plan project area are: Burlington, Charlotte, Colchester, Essex, Hinesburg, Milton, Shelburne, So. Burlington, St. George, Williston and Winooski.
